The "wow" In Organizing

As far back as I can remember, I've always liked to see things neat, and well organized. I don't know, it's just one of those character traits that evolve with you as you grow; Like cooking, painting or cars. As you mature these interests stay with you, maybe even becoming a life long hobby. It is not uncommon for some people to turn their hobby into a business venture.

My interest just happens to be organizing. Organizing is turning a poorly used or cluttered space into one that is functional and clutter free. You will know that you are better organized when everything is easily accessible and you are no longer searching aimlessly for things and wasting time. Organizing means more than just placing a book on a shelf with one hundred others and expect to find it later. How a book is arranged on a shelf will determine how easy and how fast it can be accessed. It is important to note that the placement of the shelf that stores the book is also a necessary part of the organizing process.

To some this may seem an odd type of love, this love for organizing and putting things in order. I know that part of the attraction is not only seeing the end result but seeing the disorder as well; the before and after. This is what appeals to most organizers even though it takes a few steps to get there. It's all about the "WOW" feeling at the end of each project. This feeling would be like a "plain Jane" who has had a make-over and uncovers a hidden diva; she steps back from her reflection just a little so she can take it all in. She stares for just a second or two at her reflection and then she utters that word...WOW!

Messy bedroom Before

Everything, everywhere! The owner, I am certain, manages reasonably well in this would be pretty room. Certainly not a welcoming site though, looking in from the hall. Enter at at your own risk.

The wall is a beautiful soft shade of blue, hardwood floor, and a large window. Such potential.

After

Love the space you're in. The room is neat after it has been decluttered. Items are stored away in they're proper, designated place. Everything is where they're supposed to be.  This is much more welcoming. This is the "wow" I was referring to!

Love the space you're in!
