What do you put into your space you ask. The answer is simple. What you put into your space is you and everything you cherish from your favorite mug, to your favorite person(s). Because of this, our space becomes our world. We all have a special area in our home where we like to hang out whether it is by ourselves or with good company. It may be a place with the computer or just a quiet space to read.

Organize n Decor will declutter and organizes to make this happen for you.

An organized space? Consider what that might mean for you:

  • Less stress

  • A visually pleasing space

  • The ability to see changes you may want to make at a future date

Here is what we do for you beginning with:

  1. declutter: Focus on untidy cluttered areas, to be cleared, weeded and sorted. The goal: To determine each items usefulness, which will be necessary to continue into the next steps. Do you know that the closet tends to be one of the most cluttered spaces…why, because the mess can be hidden there. Once everything is shoved inside; toys, clothes, boxes, books (you name it) and the door is shut, no one, not even the owner will be the wiser. Shove it in and forget it…until you want that book.

  2. Organize: Establishing a system that will offer the best possible use of space for whoever will be using it. This will help to maintain borders (each item remaining within its own space). The goal: Safety, functionality and ease of access. its that simple.

  3. Refresh: A newly organized space is not totally complete without a little clean up to show it up!

Who can benefit from this service

  4. Seniors

Seniors

Lets us not forget about our seniors.

  • Although the general principals of organizing works the same for everyone, for seniors things may vary somewhat.

  • Safety is always the priority and for seniors, organizing should be done according to their physical and mental status at the time.

  • For the elder person, an example of ongoing safety might be; the appropriate placement of furniture or assistive devices that fits life style and deficits like the placement of a dresser, the need for a walker, or the location of a reaching stick to be used rather then bending.

  • As we age, we become slower and loose the ability we once had to perform usual body movements like reaching, bending, and standing. Age may also play a part in interfering with cognitive functions, as those with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) which affect such functions as memory or the ability to pay attention. For these reasons managing space can be very effective.

  • Ask for help when

  • There there is ongoing spatial or compartmental disorganization and you find it hard to keep up.

  • Demanding careers

  • New mother who is not able to keep up with demands of both baby and housework.

  • Recuperating after a medical procedure.

  • When there is an overwhelming feeling of knowing that it has to be done but not knowing just where to begin. This is normal. Not everyone knows or likes to organize. Thankfully, there are people that do.
